When should you visit Valencia?
Valencia gives you the best of a Mediterranean city break: a historic old town, futuristic architecture, a huge urban park, sandy beaches and one of Spain’s strongest food cultures. The best months balance warm weather and outdoor life with manageable crowds and prices.

Plan around
What to know before you book
- Plan Fallas deliberately
- Fallas is Valencia’s biggest annual celebration. Expect major crowds, street closures, fireworks and higher demand around the main festival dates.
- Beat the summer heat
- Keep long sightseeing walks to the morning, slow down during the hottest afternoon hours and use the beach or shaded areas before heading back out in the evening.
- Combine city and beach
- Start with the historic centre or Turia Gardens, spend the afternoon around the Mediterranean and finish with dinner or drinks after sunset.

Mix the city with the coast
Valencia is easiest to enjoy when you split your days between the city and the Mediterranean. Explore the old town and Turia Gardens earlier in the day, then move toward the beach for the afternoon and stay out for dinner and drinks after sunset.
